travis' brain dump

Well, we didn’t get exactly what we were hoping for going on here, seeing as how the storm shifted south about 50-75 miles… GO COLORADO WEATHER! But we have landed a couple new inches up at Breck and it’s lightly snowing there now… at least the temps are hanging out where they should be. So we’re still good to go for tomorrow and we’ve got plenty of nice powder/packed powder surfaces to ride on. 🙂

I personally think it was a cruel prank played on us by nature for Friday the 13th… hehe

Today is just kinda yucky overall. It’s quiet around the office… at least I’m not dog tired today. The most entertaining thing was slacking off with Matt across the hall who is out of here at 12 today. I’m doing so shortly after… 2-3 for me. At least I’ve gotten most everything I had planned completed so far. This project is going to be a nightmare getting everyone to agree on the next steps for the process and actually lining up to hire in some help. I just hope we can get started on time with this thing. It’s turning out to be a little more complex than I had anticipated.

You know, I took my first nap in a long time last night… I can’t believe I was that tired when I got home from work… I just passed out for a couple hours… it was kind of awesome. lol I did miss my workout though, but whatever. I’ll just have to make up for it this weekend. 🙂

Well, I guess I better get back to work.

wow… so if this week wasn’t already a phenomenal week with snowfall amounts in the mountains, we’re getting some more!

Breckenridge, CO reported yesterday 10″ in 24 hours 28″ over 7 days and calling for another 6-12″ over into Friday night… Kids, it’s time for some snowboarding!!! With the temperatures being as cold as they have been and the increase of the base with fresh powder over the last 7 days, it’s time to tear it up! We could actually cross the 100″ mark by tomorrow night on the top mountain base… To top it all off, highs on Saturday will be in the mid 40’s which means beanie and hoodie day! WOO! 🙂

Let’s coordinate to get everyone up for a great weekend… it’s highly doubtful we’re going to see conditions like this again in the 06-07 season. Hit me up, you know my number!

On a side note… today is boring. LOL
I spent most of the morning doing some mop-up work from last night’s server outages that I had to take care of after hours and now everything is running smooth. The phones are quiet, most everyone has left out for the weekend … and well I’m bored. Tomorrow will be the worst, but I’m cutting out early so who cares. 🙂

All seems well on other fronts. Things are calm at home, calm at work and I’m doing my best not to let other things get to me anymore. All in all, today is a good day. Still a bit tired from torturing myself this week with chemicals and late nights… LOL but I’m doing okay.

ok, well after a long afternoon & night of fiberglass and body fillers… the hood is done. 🙂

thanks mike for priming that thing for me… i was in no condition to hold the gun steady by the time we got to that point last night, lol… i’ve got a slight headache today from all the fumes, but all in all – doin pretty good.  i was working on it yesterday afternoon and decided to just finish it. why not right? it’s not like i had anything else going on. total project time was about 8 hours once I got everything tallied up. not too bad – record for one of these is about 5-6 hours so i think i did pretty good.

i was even able to keep my promise to andy and get some ffxi time in last night. 🙂 all in all, not a bad evening and a good way to end the day especially after how it started out. it was good to just hang out and do some things with andy and mike. now that i’ve got my distraction out of the way it kinda sucks, heh. time for the next one, lol. oh well. so today… hmm meetings meetings — ok well only primarily the one has me stressed. it’s back on the ball with the project here.

anyway… i should get to work…

my eyes feel like they’ve sunk into my skull… i don’t know if it’s from lack of decent sleep or fiberglassing that hood scoop into my car or both… it’s like i’ve been high for days or something… *shrug*

i feel so drained, like i haven’t slept in days. true story for sunday night for sure… i didn’t actually try to go to sleep until sometime around 2am or 3, i can’t remember as i was fighting with my internet connection, which was still being crappy yesterday… yeah, but anyway, arwen kept me up after that waking up every 45-55 minutes after my attempt at sleep. needless to say, sleep didn’t happen for me there. i brought her into work with me yesterday for a while, then headed out early to take her to the doctors to make sure she wasn’t developing another urinary tract infection… only one of those spooked me and now it’s the first thing i look for when she has trouble going to the bathroom. i wonder sometimes if i just worry too much because out of the four suspected instances, only one of them – almost a year ago, was actually a valid infection. heh, the joys of being a parent. anyway… where does that put me? oh yeah… last night – headache – we all know what those are like for me… but hey, this is the first one i’ve had in a while… gotta be sleep/stress related for sure. i can only imagine what that means for me today … oh the joy.

i wish i could say otherwise i’m doing okay, but i can’t. i don’t even know if i’m coming or going today. last night’s sleep wasn’t really sleep at all… what i can’t remember (meaning i might have been asleep) was dreamless (obviously from the lack of remembering anything) so it was sort of pointless sleep. hey, at some point i’m bound to collapse and sleep well from pure exhaustion right? 🙂 i feel like one of those kids in a freddy movie, but i’m not afraid to sleep… odd.

i’m going to try to finish that hood today. maybe then i’ll feel like i accomplished something on personal level for myself … everything else is… heh yeah. think i’ll play some more ffxi too… however meaningless in the real world all those accomplishments are to anyone other than yourself, it kinda helps in some way. i’m kinda glad andy forced me back in… oh, speaking of. i’m sorry i didn’t make it in last night andy… after dealing with stuff i just didn’t feel like it, i couldn’t concentrate anyway. tonight, товарищ (tovarishch/comrade), you will not work alone i promise. (hold me to it and call me cussing if you have to bro)

so, yeah… i bet i’ll read this in a few days and go ‘ wtf? ‘ — i’m so tired.
