the fever that is snowboarding …

by on Oct.23, 2007, under General

ok… it’s officially killing me… i need a snow fix and soon!

yes, two resorts are open but they have limited runs so it’s not worth going up there… 16 days until breckenridge opens up, but i’m not sure how much terrain will be open then. all i know is i’m dying here. lol hopefully there will be more terrain open by the end of the month @ arapahoe basin so i can get up there and get a few runs in to at least tide me over.

oo… snowboard clinic this weekend (saturday) at my house if you’re local. sharpen those edges and get that wax done! i’ll be supplying the scraper to pull off old wax and mike has the edge tool, so all thats left is to bring your own wax!

concerning the restroom …

by on Oct.22, 2007, under General, Humor

so has anyone ever noticed that some people will hide perfectly still in a stall, despite being obviously finished, until you leave the restroom upon which as the door closes behind you, the stall opens and the sink turns on? I wonder how long someone would hang out in there silently if say you decided to just hang out in the bathroom for a few because you weren’t ready to go back to your desk… hehe…

six words…  “it’s ok, we all do it”

the addiction that is DDR.

by on Oct.12, 2007, under General

Yes folks, you read it right. Currently the household and some of my friends are addicted to Dance Dance Revolution Universe. *shrug* what do ya do? Played it a few times at Dave & Busters and decided it merited a purchase for the Xbox. So the last few nights at the house have been spent playing from after dinner until bed time with challenges back and forth between all of us. Andy has sat and watched, he flat refuses to participate but Mike and Amanda have a fierce competition going. I think it’s even resulted in trading jabs and challenges over email and myspace at this point, lol. I think the next step for Mike is to get another pad so we can have direct challenges person to person, lol.

I guess all in all you can’t see it as a bad thing. It has successfully created a 2-3 hour cardio workout session every night since we got it and Amanda has been practicing during the day for at least an hour or so — physical fitness here we come, lol. I know the neighbors have to be wondering what in creation is happening over at our house though as I can only imagine what it looks like to see people dancing in sync through the living room window. LOL Either way, this is very entertaining. I’m debating posting up some pictures from the last couple events at the house. hehe

Other than that… nothing new to report. I just found this amusing and had to share / poke fun at Amanda and Mike. LOL If anyone feels like coming up and joining, feel free.

msn/hotmail irritates me …

by on Oct.11, 2007, under General, Tech Stuff

So… just and FYI.

If you’re subscribed and you’ve got a hotmail/msn account that you’re using to get your emails from this server… it won’t work. 🙁

Evidently the entire block of IP addresses that this server happens to be on has been blocked by MSN/Hotmail for suspicious spam/virus related activity. After reviewing the logs, it appears that all is well on this server as it has been for years however just a few addresses up the ladder, my former company’s mail server has somehow peed in someone’s wheaties and has gotten the whole subnet added to the list of hate out there.

Kinda lame if you ask me considering that blocking a whole subnet is stupid IMHO. You should only blacklist the IP in question, not all his neighbors. That’s like arresting an entire neighborhood of people because the guy down the street is dealing drugs to elementary school kids.

I think someone at Microsoft needs to be looking for their helmet. 🙂
