knockin em off one by one…
by Travis on May.17, 2007, under General, Personal
Wow, the days this week are just dropping one by one. With that, it’s seriously closing in on my deadline of May 25th to finish some of my projects at home and work. Luckily the work projects are almost complete. Some things have shifted which has made my life easier with those, but the ones at home… well yeah.
I skipped working on the room last night seeing as how I was so busy with the car. Hooking up those water lines to the turbo took a little longer than anticipated due to some spacing issues. I had to pick up a new fitting this morning to switch the rear waterline from a 45 degree angle exit from the turbo to a 90. Stupid thing was hitting the firewall and making a little racket this morning. Now I just have to get the 45 out – which is going to be a pain. I may just cut it out to save myself the hassle of pulling the turbo off again. *shrug* it was only $13 – worth the waste to save an hour if you ask me. All in all though the car seems to run a bit better with the cooling addition so hey, bonus. I think I’m going to need to take the car out and retune it though, lol. This turbo is a little different than my other one, however it’s not a huge difference so it shouldn’t be too hard.
My goal for tonight… prime the walls in that room before getting on FFXI and getting Rank 5. Andy will shoot me if I miss tonight so I better get on it as soon as I get home. Him and Ashleigh are coming up tomorrow for SG Friday and FFXI so he will have an opportunity to smack me if I don’t do this, lol. Have you ever seen Andy mad? Pray you don’t. LOL
Just over a week until Arwen’s birthday. I’ve got to get on the ball with some of that stuff too. Need to figure out the food and stuff for next week. Amanda is going to help out with some of that stuff, so I’m not too worried. She’ll be up Friday and volunteered to help out with Arwen’s cake and some other things, so I’m not actually that worried about it – it’s not all that bad. I just need to do some shopping for some stuff for Arwen. As long as I get this stuff I have to finish cleared out and don’t procrastinate it to the point it doesn’t get done, I will be quite happy. Gotta stop pushing stuff out, it’s such a bad habit. 🙁
Well, I’ve got some things I need to get finished up before I head out on some site visits this afternoon.
and a happy wednesday to you too…

11:15 and I’ve already had a pretty busy day, whew.
Got a little scare this morning when I was driving in. I saw a puff of smoke come out of my tailpipe when I took off from a stop sign. Of course, being gunshy from the turbo blowout last week I’m wiggin out. I call up Ken over at Phoenix Turbo (Peakboost) and I’m doin the slight panic and he asked if it was steady smokin` and I said no. He laughed and in summary said, it’s probably oil floating around your IC piping since you were stupid and didn’t clean all of it out. I was trippin because I’m running without water coolant lines on the turbo (which isn’t a bad thing as long as I’m not killin the thing) because they didn’t come in until… TODAY! 🙂
So I’ll be putting my water cooling system in this afternoon. Freakin A. Until the water lines are hooked up and the car is cranked back up and I know there is no oil burning up…. I will be on pins and needles. Just glad I’ve got that hood scoop keepin the unit cool for now. If this were a ball bearing turbo I wouldn’t have even run without the water system, but journal bearings, it’s more of a courtesy to run it. lol I also need to clean out the IC system completely today as well. My intercooler is probably hating me right now.
On other notes… I’ve changed a couple things on the blogsite to help with the YouTube video displays. As most of you noticed before that annoying offset to the videos when playing them from my site. Yeah, annoying. I got the actual YouTube code embedded into this thing now, so all the videos coming from there should be good and aligned now. Enjoy proper viewing as though it were on YouTube directly. 🙂
Got some of the room finished up last night. I’m goaling to finish sanding and throw up some primer tonight on the walls. Hopefully that means I’m within a day of finishing that room. I need to get it done so I can move on to the guest room. Only one wall and a doorway to finish in there. So close… but yet so far.
Well, better get back to work.
one more reason i love the cast of stargate … lol

So David Hewlett (Rodney McKay, SG-Atlantis) has completely reached a new level of dorkdom in my book. *shakes head*Â Ya gotta give him some credit though, lol. This is why I love the cast members of Stargate, they have no limits to how retarded they act, both on and off the set. LOL I also included the video by Zach as well.
(AOTS = Attack of the Show, a G4 show)
AOTS contributor Zach Selwyn, a fan of Stargate, recently recorded a rap song and music video about his desire to get on Stargate Atlantis as a special promotion for the show — and the show was only happy to accommodate the young cable star. Selwyn recently returned from the Vancouver, B.C. set of Atlantis, where he played “Scientist #2” in an upcoming fourth season episode. “As much as I was hoping to be cast as a rival space cowboy who takes on the crew and suddenly becomes a series regular, I was more than excited to be SCIENTIST # 2,” Selwyn told G4’s The Feed. “It was a 4-line role but the crew and cast were so awesome that I had the time of my life … especially with some cast members in Vancouver after we wrapped.”
Here is Zach’s video:
Atlantis co-star David Hewlett (“Rodney McKay”) joked on set that he should record his own white boy’s rap song in response to Selwyn, in an attempt to score an appearance on Attack of the Show.Â
Here is the result of David following through…
