Yet another bogus Microsoft patch email… *rolls eyes*

Yep, the losers are at it again. 🙂 If you happen to get an email from Microsoft concerning a patch for Outlook, be smart… DO NOT FOLLOW THE LINK! I cannot stress enough how often people follow these links. Microsoft will NOT send you an update through the email in any shape or form like this. Updates are released through Microsoft Update or Windows Update ONLY!
Here’s what to look for:

Oh crap. I better go back this out of WSUS. I imported it in because I didn’t think anyone would lie to me in an email.
Hey, that reminds me. Do you happen to know anyone from Nigeria? I was helping a nice person from there with a money transfer and the bank informed me the check they gave me bounced. It wouldn’t be a huge deal except I sent them an advance on it.

For Sale – Prime real estate with a great ocean view. you cannot pass this opportunity up folks. A once in a lifetime deal that will not last forever. Ocean front property in beautiful downtown Phoenix, AZ. No tours or pictures available.
What makes this email spoof so funny is that I have actually heard people ask…”I never gave Microsoft my email. How did they figure it out? Are they working with the CIA or something?” Yes, Bill Gates is the new man in charge over at the CIA. *gun – bullet – trigger – problem solved*
