oddly enough…

Mood : contemplative

you know… I just took notice to exactly how long it’s been since i’ve posted up a blog on this thing. I honestly believe i’ve taken slacking to a whole new level after reviewing that. All in all however, I can’t say it’s been without a somewhat good excuse. You see, I typically blog when i’m bored. Whether it is about something profound or funny it’s usually when i’m bored. Maybe i should change that. Sharon made the suggestion to me the other day that I should blog more and perhaps I should really take that to heart. I honestly shrugged it off only partially as it’s been nagging me for days now. Amazing how she has that effect on me. I guess I’ve just been looking for an excuse to actually pull myself back to this site and go off on things. Nothing like contemplation on a Tuesday night to get you started right?

It’s been an interesting month to say the least. Shortly after my last blog Sharon had surgery on her shoulder. That would at least put us at the 9th and well I tried to avoid computers as much as possible since then. Somewhere after that I think i lost track of time as well. I’ve been spending a lot of time with her lately and it’s been really nice. Actually I don’t think “really nice” does it justice, but I won’t bore anyone with the details. I’ve even had some enlightening experiences these last few weeks. You know, I even tried sushi for the first time when we went out for valentines day. Imagine that! I think the more frightening thing about it is, I love it. There have been a lot of things my mind has been opened up to, not just sushi. I seriously think enlightening doesn’t even come close to describing the things I’ve been awakened to recently. Looking back I feel like I packed myself in a box and just lived there for a couple years. Amazing how someone can walk right in and flip over your box and show you so many things you forgot or didn’t know existed.

Anyway… life alongside the above is going pretty well also. Arwen is getting bigger by the day and I swear she learns a new word and a longer sentence every day. ”Absolutely.” You should hear her say it. It’s priceless and by far one of the best words to hear her say. Work has been going well, everything is moving along on schedule it seems at least. Snowboarding has taken a back seat the last few weeks, however it’s time to get back up there. I need to think. I need to … I don’t know. I think I’m just in an odd place right now. There are some other things on my mind right now which I must think on as well. Guess I need to clear my head too. Mike, weather and someone to watch Arwen permitting, we’re on for Saturday bud.

I’m going to give this a shot and see if I can’t stay on top of this. Bear with me folks, there will be a lot of private entries as they will help me to get into a better habit of blogging. If you don’t have the passwords for them, don’t feel bad as it’s nothing personal. There will be plenty of entertaining public domain stuff i’m sure. :)

things to do on a break…

Mood : good

slack off and write a blog…

why not? i need to pull my focus away from this billing portal i’m writing.

honestly, it’s frustrating. i don’t really like programming or scripting things, however, what does one do when there is no one else that can do it the way you envision it and knows off the top of their head how to handle such a task? the wonderful part about this? we found out within the last week or so that this had to be completed for a test run of the system, slated for sometime in the next week or so. yay for me.

despite the frustration however, i’m nearly 70% done. i just need to integrate the payment gateway into the process so that we get paid. sadly, it appears that could be the most complicated portion of this entire process. what a pain. it’s okay, i’ll ponder on this and probably do most of it from remote over the next couple of days. it’s usually what i do to catch up or meet a deadline. pretty busy week still. tomorrow and a good chunk of friday i’ll be out of the office, so it’s nice to know i’m almost done with this and can more than likely head into the weekend with nothing hanging over until monday. of course, with my luck, something will be screwed up with the gateway and cause me to roll into monday with it. *taps foot*

in other news, nothing really going on lately… same ole stuff… bummed for poor sharon… she won’t be boarding anymore this season with us. she met with a pretty harsh end to the season this weekend when she landed on her shoulder. it was probably the worst dislocation i’ve ever seen. i felt so helpless as there was nothing i could do to fix it… mine was *NOTHING* compared to this one. i’m just glad there happened to be a doctor nearby when it happend and he got it relocated within a minute or so of the accident. he did the coolest trick which i will forever remember. that guy forever has my respect. andy is still has me in rehab (hehe) for my lack of playing FFXI lately, hehe… i lost interest for a while there between work stress and life stress so it’s good to be getting back into the game some.

the house is coming along well… it’s been remodel nation around there and hopefully in the next few weeks it’ll be wrapping up around those projects currently open… i’ll post pictures once its all done. :D

anyway, back to work. maybe i’ll get a chance to write more later. :)
