here we go again…
by Travis on Dec.28, 2006, under General
as if last weeks blizzard that shut down the metro area wasn’t enough, mother nature is at it again.
i’m sitting here in my office in boulder looking out across the foothills and you can see the clouds thickening up and rolling in. the snow is supposed to start falling by around noon to one today and is expected to have dropped in the range of 3-5″ by 5pm. then the real storm hits… overnight expectations are over an inch an hour with expectations of (here’s the fun part) anywhere 8-12″ overnight. here comes friday with an additional 3-5″…. so much for going boarding this weekend… ugh. oh yeah, lets not forget there is a watch in effect from friday night until sunday morning with the possibilitiy of even *MORE* snow, an 80% chance to be exact. so let’s just toss in there an additional 6-10″ of snow for good measure. my prediction for the weekend? by sunday I say we’ll have gotten about 22-28″…
so… with that said. anyone who doesnt feel like being caged up alone over the weekend… the snow party is at my place… again. there will be movies and snowboarding as usual. food and beverages are BYOS (bring your own stuff) as i’m not going to feed an army again. lol if you have snowboarding gear, bring it – you’re probably gonna use it. also bring your season passes, if by some chance we make it out of the house, our first destination is the mountains (weather/road conditions permitting). Mike, if you’re coming up, bring your FFXI discs – we gotta reinstall on the Vista machine…
if you can’t make it up, please be safe and we’ll see you on the other side! lol
pictures will be posted, from both blizzards over the coarse of the weekend… (what else are we gonna do)

A Christmas/Holiday Message…
by Travis on Dec.25, 2006, under General
So, today I was viewing our local news site, 9news.com (specific story link below) and saw a story about a little girl named Ariana Samaras. What a wonderful little girl she is, strong as can be but she’s losing a battle with a tumor in her brain stem. They moved to Colorado to be closer to children’s hospital and help care for Ariana, but she’s not doing so great. I’m sure this has been an incredible load on her family and I hope that everyone here will take the opportunity to help them out this holiday season. On their site they ask if you wish to donate, to donate $1 and pass their site on to your friends. I ask that any of you who can, donate $2 and send it on. I have a daughter not much younger than her and this really hit home for me as it could happen to any of us. If you wish to donate to a foundation the benefits all rather than directly to Ariana’s fund or even both, follow the links below. I hope everyone has had a great holiday today! Please pass this along.

so, apparently i’m getting my money back from microsoft! this is awesome
REDMOND, Wash. (AP) – Microsoft Corp. is extending its warranty on the Xbox 360 video game console to one year from the previous limit of 90 days. The change announced Friday applies to future and present owners.
The one-year warranty matches what Sony Corp. and Nintendo Co., already offer on their latest video game consoles, the PlayStation 3 and the Wii.
Microsoft said it extended the deal to make its U.S. and Canadian warranty consistent with what it offered in many other countries. Customers who already have paid repair bills on Xbox consoles that they’ve owned for less than one year will automatically get refunds, Microsoft said in a statement.
This autumn, Microsoft acknowledged that a glitch in the Xbox’s online update system damaged a small number of customers’ consoles before the problem was quickly fixed. At least one customer has sued over the incident.
gotta stay on these mofo’s for this. lol i’ll post up my experience with this as well.
