First and foremost, do I believe people have certain rights as human beings? Yes. No one should try to take away someones personal freedoms and abilities. Go where you want, be who you want to be, but…

Do people have the right to freeload and complain about how things aren’t the way they would like them to be when they are not even a citizen of a country and don’t think the laws of the land they are living in apply to them? NO

I’m not saying all illegal immigrants are complete freeloaders or disrespect of all laws with no regard for consequence, let me stop you right there. What I’m saying is certain aspects of the things a lot of illegal immigrants are expecting of the US are indicative of the behaviors of a freeloader and someone who has no regard for the law.

Example: I’ve seen recent news articles about illegal immigrants fighting deportation or other consequences of their being here illegally in court or protesting laws that could get them kicked out. Excuse me? Since when do non-citizens get citizen’s rights? Seriously? I mean if I go rob a bank, I go to court and if the proof points to the fact I did in fact rob said bank, the law states I have xxx options for a sentence based on parameters of the crime and more than likely I go to jail. That’s the law, I broke it, hence ‘ILLEGAL’. So why are ILLEGAL immigrants who are here… ILLEGALLY getting any kind of say in how our laws should be interpreted or how they should be applied to them? You have government officials, celebrities, citizens, etc all banding together to give these people “a voice”… SERIOUSLY!?

This country seriously has its priorities out of order.

Now don’t get me wrong here. I believe wholeheartedly that people should have the chance and be able to immigrate here from another country LEGALLY! If you want to move here, go through the process, become documented it’s that simple. Whether you’re here on borrowed time or are immigrating here permanently, do so through the proper channels. PERIOD. If you’re here legally, you’re taxed on your income, you are protected by our laws, etc… etc… You’re subject to the same rules as I am with conditions based on your status that you legally filed for.

If you don’t like the process, then maybe you shouldn’t be here. I’m so sick of people who aren’t even citizens of this country depleting the economy and morale of this nation with their presence. We have enough people who can’t take care of themselves and enough criminals that are already citizens of this country that we have to support and adding more and more every day doesn’t help the situation any.

Get documented or GET OUT. Stop whining about your human rights being violated and adhere to the law of the land you’re trying to move into. If I have to live by them, so do you!

Ugh…

And for you people who think you have an opinion contrary, you are more than welcome to find a country that supports your ideals and go there. Just make sure you do it legally.

Seriously. Can’t people just hold out a little longer and observe the no eating signs on a bus? They are there for a reason but obviously some people are too busy stuffing their slop holes to notice… The smell is so nausea inducing that I just might have to share my lunch with them too…

Oh and if you’re going to rant at my rant because you are offended, save yourself the wasted effort of typing and don’t. I don’t want to hear anyone justify themselves for me only to rip you a new one.

Disclaimer: I can’t claim credit for finding this one… Carson found this one probably in his never ending quest to find the end of the internet.

wow… i mean, really… wow.

I can admit, I’ve seen some stupidity before, but this one really takes the cake. I seriously have to ponder if this kid will survive to adulthood. Evidently this kid, who posts up videos on YouTube, goes by the screen name ‘NextGenHacker101′… Personally that name makes me laugh in and of itself but pushing past that, I actually watched the video (posted below). ”NextGenHacker101″ goes on to explain how he’s going to show you an ip viewer than lets you see people’s connection speeds and such connected to a specific website. He goes on to explain this whole “cool” utility, etc.. etc.. and then goes to demonstrate…

First off, glancing at his desktop I had to stifle *some* laughter since he was instructing from Windows XP but pressing forward nearly choked on my drink as he prompted you to launch the command prompt ‘cmd’. As the words left his mouth ‘Tracer-T’ I believe is where I completely lost all ability to maintain any composure. Seriously… if you’re going to “instruct” people on “cool tools” to view people’s connections, learn what the heck you’re talking about before making a complete idiot of yourself. *trace-rt* is short for “traceroute”… *rolls eyes*. I share this video so that you don’t actually need to go to YouTube and seek this confused individual out.

Could this tool be used in any shape or form for hacking? Sure. Could it be used the way this kid described it? Not at all.

For those of you that don’t know. The utility that this poor uninformed soul completely botched the explanation of is used to determine the route taken by packets across an IP network. It’s most often used for network troubleshooting and in no way could be used to show you who all is connected to a website or how fast their connection is.

So I was browsing around the internet and saw an article titled ‘ avatar blues ‘ on cnn. Since the Na’vi are blue it intrigued me to find out what this article could be about. Nothing could prepare me for what I was about to read. Evidently, the weak minded are at it again in their complete failure to grasp reality and accept the life they have been given in this world. I personally blame parents for this.

An example to begin… there is a fan forum site “Avatar Forums” and one of the topics is “Ways to cope with the depression of the dream of Pandora being intangible” and it has received thousands of posts from people experiencing depression and other people trying to help them cope. Really!? Seriously!? This topic became so popular that admins had to create a second thread so people could continue to post.

Be prepared, I couldn’t make stuff up this rich to save my life (or end it, LOL):

“That’s all I have been doing as of late, searching the Internet for more info about ‘Avatar.’ I guess that helps. It’s so hard I can’t force myself to think that it’s just a movie, and to get over it, that living like the Na’vi will never happen. I think I need a rebound movie” – Elequin

“Ever since I went to see ‘Avatar’ I have been depressed. Watching the wonderful world of Pandora and all the Na’vi made me want to be one of them. I can’t stop thinking about all the things that happened in the film and all the tears and shivers I got from it. I even contemplate suicide thinking that if I do it I will be rebirthed in a world similar to Pandora and the everything is the same as in ‘Avatar.’” – Mike

“When I woke up this morning after watching Avatar for the first time yesterday, the world seemed … gray. It was like my whole life, everything I’ve done and worked for, lost its meaning. It just seems so … meaningless. I still don’t really see any reason to keep … doing things at all. I live in a dying world.” – Eltu (Ivar Hill) (17)

“Once can say my depression was twofold: I was depressed because I really wanted to live in Pandora, which seemed like such a perfect place, but I was also depressed and disgusted with the sight of our world, what we have done to Earth. I so much wanted to escape reality.” – Eltu (Ivar Hill) (17)

You have got to be kidding me… It’s like Emo Hippy Tree Huggers from Hell who have lost the will to live because of a movie have been unleashed on our world!? ROFLMAO! Quite honestly I think these people are a prime example of individuals who need to seek therapy. Actually, they don’t need therapy, they just need a good slap across the head and a dose of reality.

*THIS* is what our world is turning into. A bunch of whipped individuals who don’t have the will to live because their parents were too soft on them and didn’t prepare them for the world outside their little bubble. *THIS* is the result of philosophies of “Everyone is a winner”, lack of discipline in the home, lack of proper family structure and the readiness to throw medication at a child whenever they exhibit behavior that isn’t up to par.

To quote Chris, “Dear Diary, Current Mood: apathetic. My life sucks. Diary, sometimes you’re the only one that ever gets me.” ROFLMAO!

Seriously, if you want to be disgusted with the world you live in that is one thing. But instead of acting out, begging for attention and feeling that there is nothing you can do because that’s what you’ve been indoctrinated with in your life, take some time to realize that resolving these issues starts with *YOU*. Suck it up, drop the Emo “everything is soooo…. Gray” attitude and learn to start helping fix the issues at hand.

For the record: Discipline in the home does not mean beating your kids down, but it does mean actually doing something to keep your kids in line and teach them about actions, consequences and responsibility. Seriously, it’s OK to smack your kids on the rear end when they’ve earned it. Complete and total failure to give them solid structure turns them into this. If you don’t believe me, just wait a few years and you’ll see the results. Of course by then it’ll be too late and you might as well just start your own Emo blog.

You know, there is a definite lack in this world of common courtesy. You would think as human beings we would gravitate towards being a little more aware of others as we evolve but alas, for as much whining and ranting about human rights and animal rights and not spanking your kids, the human race as a whole cannot seem to grasp a simple concept that could quite possibly even contribute to those very causes they feel so self important enough to rant and rave about.

Anyway, common courtesy… I’m not just talking about holding the door for someone who is walking in behind you or letting someone in while in morning traffic here. It goes far beyond that to the point I actually felt I needed to rant. Seriously folks, is it too much to ask that you flush a toilet when you leave a bathroom?

I can fully understand if you’re a germaphobe but if its that bad what are you doing in a public bathroom to begin with? When you are in that stall is it too hard to spend an extra two seconds to hit that lever? You could even kick it with your foot as you leave…

For real, people need to grow up. I’ve seen 3 year olds with better bathroom manners.

</rant>

This is the second day in a row I have sat on a bus to witness someones negligence and plain stupidity that makes me wonder what could they have possibly been thinking. Yesterday there was something that looked like food on a seat beside me and today someone left a pair of socks hanging on the foot rests. Really?

I wish people would be more aware of the things they do. It would make it easier for those of us who are aware to be less judgmental and angry.

Xcel is proposing a 2.6 cents per kilowatt hour fee based on the generating capacity of a home’s solar panels. The proposed fee would be along with actual electricity used and a $7 to $8 service fee now charged to cover meter reading and billing.

The Public Utilities Commission will hold a hearing on Xcel’s new fee on Aug. 5.

Members of the solar panel industry oppose the fee.

NO kidding. I oppose this nonsense. Everyone knows that anyone who uses solar panels in a residential area is always going to rely on regular hookup to Xcel in order to power their homes at night or when batteries run lower than needed to operate a house. The nonsense here is there doesn’t seem to be any definition on where this would apply. Seeing as how there are many people who use solar panels on their rooftops to offset energy costs this could technically cause some serious issues if it applies to even the most basic user. This story taken from 9 News depicts just how freakin greedy these utility companies are. Are you kidding me!? Talk about a way to completely derail the desire to help the environment or your power bill any. Let me break this down for you folks that don’t quite get what the impact of this is.

If they were to apply this to even the most basic solar panel user here is what the impact would be:

In a normal month (this is from my power bill mind you) I use a total of 1402 kilowatt hours a month. This costs me $54.86 (mind you that’s after you remove the $76.55 in completely BS fees) which makes each kWH cost right at $0.039. On another stab, is it really necessary to charge people 150% of their power usage in fees?! Don’t you greedy people get enough money!?

Now, if I wanted to say put some solar panels on the roof of my house to offset *some* of the cost of running my servers and such I would go and spend about $10,000 for a 2.10 kW system for a start. That would probably generate about 245 kWH a month of offset on average. Not a ton, but we’re only doing the basics here. Ok, so with the proposed increase above, if it applies to even the most basic user and because I’ve turned on solar panels the cost of my electricity now goes up to $0.065 per kWH for power used from the grid. This would mean that the now 1157 kWH that I’m using now costs me $75.20 in addition to an extra $8/month for a meter reading. LOL Seriously? What’s the point in doing it if you’re going to almost double the cost of my current usage?

Now, in defense of the utility I’m sure they won’t apply it to the most basic user, it really doesn’t make sense. If they do they’ll have lawsuit after lawsuit on their hands I’m sure.

So let’s look at the impact of a heavier user of solar. Someone who say, offsets half of their electric bill and would more than likely fall into this category. They go and spend $30,000 on a solar system that outputs about 7.2 kW which would put out an average of 800 kWH a month. This offset would reduce the amount used from the grid to about 602 kWH. At the new adjusted rate that’s $39.13 + $8 meter fee. Ok, so you’re finally saving money, but before the hike + fee you were much lower at $23.47.

I’m sure some of my numbers are off here, I’m using some calculators on nrel.gov to do the usages based on outputs of systems so who knows. Regardless, the second user is still looking at a savings of only $8.00 a month as opposed to $31.00 a month based on my scenario. How is that incentive for someone to go solar? You can’t even afford to pay for the system at that point.

I dunno. It just doesn’t make sense to me.

Well, folks, with all the action going on over in Iran, you might want to start looking at that as a possible glimpse into the future for us. I’m serious…

If there is anything that has become more evident to me today in following this latest bill that Congress just motioned through is that our government has stopped *working for us* and started *thinking* for us.

Seriously. Has anyone actually looked at the pipe dream that is this bill (HR 2454)? Take a good long look at http://energycommerce.house.gov/Press_111/20090515/hr2454.pdf - but keep in mind that’s even missing the 300+ page amendment that those slimey bastards slipped in this morning at 3:09am. Henry Waxman, you’re an idiot.

So, nowhere online can you find any support for this bill unless you’re some die-hard tree hugger who thinks this scheme is actually going to work. If you do, you’re even more confused and even more of an idiot than we thought. Then again, maybe I’m wrong… Maybe this is what you really want… you like living off the land and having no modern conveniences, right? I mean, this is exactly what you’re going to have when you can’t buy anything since the cost of your energy takes your entire paycheck. But you like that right?

Seriously folks. There are so many better ways to go about cleaning up our energy usage but the provisions in this bill will destroy this country from the inside out. Aside from that, this is a prime example of the government *NOT* listening to their constituents. 219/212 – at least some of them got the picture, but for those 219 pocket lining, no good, creators of excessive CO2 (blower of hot air), you better believe if this passes through the Senate, your day will come. Your days of living it up off taxpayer money and enjoying your inheritences will be over next election. That is if an angry mob of people who’ve lost their jobs due to your ignorance doesn’t beat you to election day. *shrug* Just stating the facts here folks.

Today the phone lines were jammed with people trying to voice their opinions on this bill. SO many in fact that the lines we overrun. The people answered the call by Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana who said, “Call your congressman, right now!” from the House floor as the chamber seemed near a vote.

CNN quoted in their article a Rep from Texas:

“I can’t begin to tell you how many calls we’ve received,” said Rep. Charles Gonzalez, D-Texas. “And it’s disproportionately vote ‘no.’”
Gonzalez, who voted “yes,” believes special interest groups generated many of the calls on both sides, including the late surge of negative feedback.

*PRIME* example of Congress deciding for us without taking our input into consideration. They chalk it up to ‘ special interest group generated calls ‘ – yeah, the special interest group is THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WHO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO DO!

So, what’s next? After we’re impoverished and we have no fight left in us, are you going to dissolve the Constitution of the United States so you can have your supreme power? Get a clue folks, that will never happen. As people start to feel the American Dream die, you can bet history will repeat itself. So quickly has our government forgotten how they even came to power. The people put you there with trust and hope and you’re showing you’re no different than the British Empire of 1776.

/soapbox

ps. Henry Waxman, you’re still an idiot.
