I really don't understand these people. Seriously who do they think they are? What makes them experts on how to raise kids? Did they get the "how to raise kids" handbook none of us got? I've seen kids work their parents over good and get away with anything because the parents don't ever follow through with their threats of spankings or punishments, and then I see some kids who's parents follow through when they say the kid will get punished and those kids take one look at the parent and know what's coming if they don't shape up and they immediately stop what they are doing and start behaving.
Kids have to have fun and make mistakes, it's how they learn, but they have to know there are consequenses for certain actions. Especially if they do something that they KNOW they are not supposed to be doing, like if they do something that is dangerous or hurtful. They also need to learn how to say SORRY!! I know parents who don't make their kids say sorry when they have done something to hurt someone else. That's WRONG! That's how they learn accountability. Kids who don't learn that grow up to be useless lumps of human flesh that drag on the economy and society.
